Scranton provides plenty of shopping terrain in between romance of the Poconos and Pocono Raceway NASCAR action. Connected to the Steamtown National Historic Site, The Mall at Steamtown, on Lackawanna Avenue and anchored by Bon-Ton, Boscov's, and Steve & Barry's University Sportswear, has some 85 retailers including Shenk & Tittle for athletic wear and River Essentials for Orvis rods, reels, and waders, plus a food court and Marquee Cinema 8 Plex. Wyoming Avenue's Senior Craftsmen Shop showcases works by artisans getting on in years. On North Keyser Avenue, Cronins Irish Cottage stocks Celtic Jewelry and all things Irish. On Washington Avenue, Michele's Cigars has a walk-in humidor filled with a variety of smokes for connoisseurs. Also on Washington, Maryanne's Closet stocks soaps, candles, pottery, and gift baskets. Family-owned Boccardo Jewelers on Spruce Street specializes in timepieces, wedding bands, custom designs and repair. On Viewmont Drive, Gander Mountain provides one-of-a-kind outdoor shopping specializing in hunting, fishing, and camping equipment, plus gunsmith services.
